“Sweet/Vicious” has yet to be renewed for another season, but the creator of the show already has a list of socially relevant topics they would like to tackle in the potential Season 2 of the MTV series.

In a recent interview with The TV Junkies, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson revealed that they would like to tell stories about LGBT and racial issues, among many others, in the event the network picks up the series for Season 2. “By the end of Season 1 and these 10 episodes, Jules’ (Eliza Bennett) story, it’s still evolving, but we’ve told her story and we are able to move into and give more space to stories that really deserve to be told and seen. That’s LGBT stories,” Robinson said. “And we’d love to do more stories about bullying or race issues.”

Although the show focuses on sexual assault in its freshman run, Robinson said that “Sweet/Vicious” won’t be afraid to tell other pressing social issues in the future. “There are so many things that are happening in the college ecosystem that mirror issues that are happening everywhere,” Robinson said. “There is no issue that we want to shy away from. … “If we are lucky enough to get Season 2 we definitely want to use that time to explore so many more issues — inside the world of sexual assault and outside of it.”

As for why they decided not to tackle several social issues all at once in the current season, Robinson said that their limited screen time prevented them from doing so. In addition, Robinson previously told Entertainment Weekly that they were committed to telling Jules’ story, more than anything else, by the end of the season.

“It really does become so much more about Jules and her story and making sure we tell that completely for this first season,” she said of what fans can expect from the remaining episodes of the season. “Because we wanted to make sure that we gave the audience something satisfying if we didn’t come back for a second season.”

An all-new episode of “Sweet/Vicious” airs on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10 p.m. EST on MTV. Check out the synopsis for Season 1, episode 7, titled “Heartbreaker,” below:
