“Fargo” alum Adam Goldberg has been cast as a series regular in Season 2 of NBC’s “Taken.”

According to Variety, Goldberg will play the role of Kilroy, a gray hat hacker described as an eccentric and intelligent tech elitist with a droll sense of humor.

In addition to his performance as Mr. Numbers in Season 1 of “Fargo,” Goldberg is also known for his roles on TVLand’s “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” ABC’s “The Unusuals” and NBC’s “Joey.”

Goldberg is the latest addition to Season 2 of “Taken.” He joins previously announced newcomer Jessica Camacho, who will play Santana, a scary-smart, rule-breaking former Army captain and logistics expert who possesses an acerbic wit and calculated bravado.

News of Goldberg and Camacho’s addition to the show comes roughly two months after it was revealed that six of the original series regulars are not coming back for the show’s sophomore run. Those former series regulars are Gaius Charles (John), Brooklyn Sudano (Asha), Monique Gabriela Curnen (Vlasik), Michael Irby (Scott), Jose Pablo Cantillo (Dave) and James Landry Hébert (Rem).

Clive Standen (Bryan Mills) and Jennifer Beals (Christina Hart) are the only Season 1 series regulars returning for next season.

In an interview with TVLine earlier this month, NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt said that the decision to pink-slip six of the show’s original series regulars was rooted from the belief that the show “needed” a creative reboot.

“There’s a better show in there,” the network boss told the outlet, before noting that the “essence” of the series, Standen and Beals’ characters, will remain front and center in Season 2.

“We love Clive and Jennifer, but I think we got a little disparate with [the supporting characters] and couldn’t really define them enough,” Greenblatt said. “So we just took a look at what the essence of the show was and tried to focus in on that. I think it’s going to be a really strong second season.”

The massive cast shake-up came two weeks after “Person of Interest” executive producer Greg Plageman replaced Alexander Cary as showrunner.

“Taken” Season 2 will premiere midseason on NBC.
