Tawny Kitaen's daughters are grieving over the death of the actress and reality TV personality, but they know her legacy will survive beyond her.

Kitaen, who was a 1980s music video icon, died Friday at age 59 at her home in Newport Beach, California. The "Bachelor Party" star's daughters Wynter, 28, and Raine, 22, confirmed her passing and thanked their late mother's fans and friends for their support.

"We are heartbroken and saddened to announce the death of our mom," Wynter and Raine wrote in a joint statement posted on Kitaen's official account on Instagram Saturday. "We just want to say thank you for all of you, her fans and friends, for always showing her such support and love. You gave her life everyday. We miss her and love her and we know her legacy will live on forever."

The post received tons of messages from other celebrities and fans who had been following Kitaen. They sent their love and prayers to her surviving family.

"l am in absolute SHOCK! Tawny was a wonderful person and she was my friend," "Modern Family" star Darcy Donavan commented. "I am heartbroken over this! [broken heart emoji] I just got a text from her recently and it's so hard to believe she is gone. [crying emoji] My sincerest condolences to her children and the rest of her family! RIP TAWNY [fodled hands emoji] I will miss our chats about life."

"so grateful we had the chance to reconnect recently," "Private School" star Betsy Russell wrote.

"My heart is broken for you both and her family love you both so sorry [broken heart emoji] Rip She was my whole teen life I looked up to her I was so happy to see her on instagram and her interactions with me and all her fans were so amazing and a gift she will always be a beautiful Angel to us all love you both," a fan wrote.

"Sending our love and condolences. Your mom was the best thing that had happened to us in a long time and we just loved her. She will be missed," another commented.

"I’m so sorry. My deepest condolences to the family Growing up she was the girl everyone wanted to be ... well rocker girls like me. May she rest in forever peace," wrote another follower.

Before the news of Kitaen's passing made headlines, one Twitter user had leaked it on the micro-blogging site. Kitaen's friend and fellow model-actress Carrie Stevens confirmed it when she commented on the tweet.

"It's true," she wrote. "I don't [blame] people for not wanting to believe it.... but it is fact. Let let her family give the official statement. They deserve that respect. RIP to a legend."

Kitaen's cause of death has not yet been released.

Kitaen made her on-screen debut with a minor role in the 1983 TV movie "Malibu," before playing Tom Hanks' bride-to-be in 1984's "Bachelor Party." She also made appearances in "Witchboard," "White Hot" and "Dead Tides" as well as starred in music videos for Ratt and White Snake.

Kitaen's more recent appearances had been in reality shows, including "The Surreal Life," "Botched" and "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
