Police in Logansport, Indiana, have arrested two 12-year-old girls after they tortured another girl of the same age at a sleepover.

Police were called on Friday about the young girl who reportedly had her head shaved, was burned with cigarettes, beaten, and sat on until she couldn’t breathe during a sleepover.

According to those close to the victim, she also suffered cuts to the face from a sharp object. “They didn’t bully her. They tortured her,” Jaimie Tribbett, the mother of the victim, told FOX59 in Indianapolis. “Mentally, physically tortured my daughter, and it’s not right.”

Tribbett revealed she fears her daughter will struggle to move past the traumatic attack. “It hurts bad because now she has to for the rest of her life look over her shoulder or wonder if she can trust this person or that person. It’s absolutely horrible,” Tribbett said.

Police revealed they have since received video and photos of the incident.

“Unfortunately, I’ve had to watch some of the video, and it’s a good thing we have some video, but it’s unpleasant to watch,” said Logansport Police Sgt. Dan Frye.

On Wednesday, officials said they were working on obtaining additional warrants for further cellphone video.

After the Logansport Police Department arrested the two girls, one faces juvenile charges of intimidation, battery, and criminal confinement. The second girl has not been charged yet, but the case remains open.

“Officers will continue to investigate the other incidents that are alleged, and we’re going to continue to investigate this one in particular. There’s still information coming in, there’s things that we’re going to do in conjunction with the prosecutor’s office, for instance, search warrants, and whatnot,” Frye said.

Although the investigation remains ongoing, Tribbett hopes her daughter will get the justice she deserves.

“I hope that my daughter can get justice and that the other little girl, I hope that she stays in there for a long time and gets the help that she needs,” Tribbett stated.
