Jane may have already found Lake but the case is far from over.

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 9 of “Ten Days in the Valley,” Jane (Kyra Sedgwick) flees town for her own protection.

While it’s expected that Red is still after Jane, the trailer for the final two episodes of the ABC drama suggests that the TV writer also leaves town with Lake (Abigail Pniowsky) because a representative from the Child Protective Services (CPS) is trying to get her daughter from her.

“She needs to feel the adults around her in control,” the CPS rep tells Jane.

“Of course she does,” Jane replies. “I’m gonna take her home. I’m not gonna leave her aside.”

Despite Jane’s promise that she will keep her eyes on Lake this time around, the rep insists that it isn’t a good idea for Lake to be with her at this time. “I’m not certain your home is the best place for her right now,” says the rep.

While Jane heads to a hideaway, Bird (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) continues to work on the case. Last episode, Bird found out that the $10,000 bracelet of Casita Victim One is originally owned by Christopher Gomez (Carlos Sanz), a candidate for Attorney General of California and the brother of police commander David Gomez (Felix Solis). Given this new information, Bird now sees Christopher as a potential mastermind of the Casita raid.

Elsewhere in episode 9, Ali (Erika Christensen) tries to keep the peace with Pete (Kick Gurry), and Red’s identity is revealed.

In Season 1, episode 10, as revealed in the synopsis for the final hour of the series, Jane finds herself in immediate danger when the kidnapper’s identity is discovered. Meanwhile, Bird’s investigation connects him to new evidence that leads to a shocking confrontation. Also, Ali reveals a secret to Pete, while Tom (Josh Randall) has to make a choice between family and his career.
