A Tennessee man killed his wife and 6-year-old step-grandson Saturday, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Terry Majors, 64, first shot his wife, Leigh Shea-Majors, 61, and then his grandson, Ty Dodson. Majors’ granddaughter, 4, who has not been named by police, was also staying in her maternal grandparents’ home but managed to escape and alert the neighbors.

The home is located in Hermitage, about 20 miles east of Nashville. The three family members were found at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday.

No other details are known at this time as the investigation remains ongoing, according to reports.

Ty Dodson’s uncle, Chase Dodson, launched a Facebook fundraiser to pay for his nephew’s funeral costs, which has since met its goal and then some.

“I am raising money for any expenses expected to come this following week,” Dodson’s post reads. “… I am trying to raise money on Ty’s behalf of the funeral because he was only six years old & No life insurance policies. The rest of the money will be donated to a charity for family’s that don’t have the money for a proper funeral for loved ones. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated as we lay our sweet boy to rest.”
