The latest chapter of Ken Wakui's "Tokyo Revengers" took readers down memory lane as it told the backstory of the top dog of Rokuhara Tandai, South Terano.

Following the cliffhanger panel where readers saw Benkei and Wakasa coming at South, the latest chapter offered more details about South Terano. The newest manga installment started with South and his life in the Flavelas and later in Japan.

South used to live in the slums of Rio in Brazil with his sickly mother and a man named Dino, who took care of his mother. Dino taught him how to use a gun and to kill his enemies at the age of five.

He received money after that deed and used it to buy a pair of shoes. At an early age, he learned the benefits of violence. Dino also changed his name from Teramo Minami to South Terano.

He killed Dino when he was 12 years old and became the gang leader of Dino South. At 14, a gang attacked his home and killed his mother. Following that incident, South moved to Japan, where his grandparents lived.

He was sent to a juvenile prison in 2006. He met former Tenjiku members, except Kakucho, there. South defeated all of them and made them his subordinates when he formed Rukuhara Tandai in 2007.

Like Mikey, South formed the gang to create a new era of delinquents. Later, South defeated Kakucho, but while the latter accepted his defeat, he only obeyed Izana.

Following South's backstory, the manga shifted to the current setting where a war between three gangs is raging on.  While South taunted Wakasa and Benkei, Kakucho said no matter how strong the Black Dragon duo was, they won't be able to defeat South because he is a "man of extreme violence."

"Tokyo Revengers" 228 will most likely continue to tell the ongoing war between the three gangs and will provide updates on the South vs. Benkei and Wakasa fight. Additionally, the upcoming chapter might show Mikey finally learning (accepting) Draken's death.

Readers might also witness Mikey making a move in the upcoming chapter. As for Takemichi and Senju, readers might see them still on the sideline talking about some of the characters involved in the war.

For readers who want to read the official issue of the latest manga issue, it is available at Kodansha. The latest chapter is titled "Gangster."

"Tokyo Revengers" 228 is set to release on Oct. 27. The incoming chapter's spoilers usually appear online sometime between Sunday and Monday, while raw scans surface on various social media sites Tuesday night.
