A top White House spokeswoman on Tuesday claimed that President Trump is screened for COVID-19 “multiple times a day,” and declared he is “the most tested man in America.”

“As I’ve made clear from this podium, the president is the most tested man in America,” White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters during a briefing. “He’s tested more than anyone, multiple times a day, and we believe that he’s acting appropriately.”

McEnany did not give a specific number on how many times a day Trump is tested.

“He’s tested often. I’m not going to read out exactly how many times he’s tested a day, but sometimes it is more than one time a day,” she said.

Trump has frequently claimed that the U.S. “has the best testing in the world” for the virus. Yet, Republican allies, such as former Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, have said the U.S. has a testing problem.

Trump health officials are now using a new strategy called pooled testing for the virus. Pooled testing combines samples from multiple people and examines them in a single test.

Kathleen Sibelius, the Health and Human Services Secretary under President Barack Obama, has said that pooled testing would be an ineffective strategy, due to the large size of the U.S. outbreak.

The U.S. has the most coronavirus cases in the world. As of Tuesday at 3:35 p.m. ET, the U.S. has 3,858,686 cases and a death toll of 141,426, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
