Was Angelina Jolie really “shocked” to know that ex-husband Brad Pitt reunited with Jennifer Aniston on the latter’s 50th birthday party? This is what a recent report from a tabloid claims, but it has already been debunked by a credible source.

Entertainment news outlet HollywoodLife recently claimed that the “Maleficent” actress was quite “surprised” when she caught wind of Pitt and Aniston’s friendly reunion. The outlet said that they got this information from a “source close to” Jolie.

The outlet’s supposed source alleged that Jolie was fully unaware of how close the “World War Z” actor and the “Friends” alum had become. Thus, she was shocked to know that Pitt actually took the time to go to Aniston’s star-studded celebration.

Another tipster, who was claimed to be close to Aniston, maintained that Pitt’s attendance at his first ex-wife’s birthday bash did not actually come as a shock to their common friends. The insider reiterated the message by saying that “nobody was totally shocked,” suggesting that the ex-couple’s pals were aware of their friendship.

Gossip Cop has since called out HollywoodLife for the report. The fact-checking website slammed the outlet for running a baseless story with bogus quotes from unreliable insiders. Jolie’s camp also assured the site that nobody from them had been in contact with media outlets just to share the actress’ reaction to Pitt and Aniston’s reunion.

Gossip Cop went on to point out how the entertainment news outlet has been fabricating stories involving Jolie, Pitt and Aniston for years now. It also noted how none of the more reliable news outlets covered such a story about Jolie’s reaction simply because the narrative was entirely made-up.

Last Saturday, Aniston celebrated her 50th birthday at the Sunset Tower hotel in Los Angeles. The actress was joined by many of her celebrity friends, including Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Demi Moore, George and Amal Clooney, Keith Richards and Kate Hudson.

Pitt showed up at the dinner party, with People reporting that he was invited by the birthday girl because she wanted everyone she loved to celebrate the milestone with her. However, it was also revealed that Aniston didn’t really pay special attention to Pitt during the party because she was busy entertaining her other guests.

Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie are currently going through a custody battle over their six children: Maddox, 17; Pax, 15; Zahara, 14; Shiloh, 12; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10. The Blast revealed recently that the former husband and wife were seen having a “tense” conversation during a legal meeting in front of their lawyers.

When the actress’ father, Jon Voight, was interviewed about the ongoing legal proceedings, he said that he believes “everybody’s gonna be OK.” He added that he’s praying for Jolie, Pitt and their kids amid the legal drama.
