Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are not back together months after her divorce from Justin Theroux. Rumors of Brad Pitt giving Mayer permission to date the actress have also been debunked.

OK! magazine recently published a report claiming that Aniston reunited with Mayer, whom she dated and broke up with in 2009. The magazine claimed that the "Friends" actress and Mayer met up for drinks at the Beverly Hills Hotel and got talking during their "intimate reunion." An unnamed insider even claimed in the report that Mayer told Aniston that he never stopped loving her, which apparently shook Theroux's ex-wife to the core.

The OK! magazine report further claimed that the two had been communicating with each other long before this so-called rendezvous. Aniston reportedly constantly texted Mayer, asking how he was and sharing funny anecdotes. The source went on to claim that Mayer reportedly always texted her back and that they both seemed "excited" to talk to each other. The questionable tipster added Mayer was reportedly a changed man and was no longer a "self-involved lothario" because he has learned his lesson about love "the hard way."

"Now that he’s back in touch with Jen, he’s keen to see where this goes," the so-called source said.

The tabloid's insider also claimed that Mayer went as far as to ask Pitt's permission to pursue Aniston when they bumped into each other at a party. Mayer apparently heard rumors about Aniston and Pitt getting back together and wanted to confirm if this was true or not.

However, Gossip Cop has proven this report to be false. A rep for Aniston confirmed to the outlet that the actress and her ex-boyfriend are not getting back together and that the OK! magazine report is a complete fabrication.

The rumor-debunking site pointed out that the tabloid never mentioned when Aniston and Mayer supposedly got back together. Aside from this, it also never explained how the so-called "source" would know about the details of Aniston and Mayer's private meeting.

In addition, the OK! magazine report never revealed where Mayer had bumped into Pitt. Rumors of the actor and Aniston getting back together have also previously been debunked by Gossip Cop.

This isn't the first time that OK! has published false stories about Aniston and Mayer. In 2010, the same tabloid claimed that Aniston and Mayer were back together and that they were giving their relationship another try. Gossip Cop also confirmed that there was no truth to these claims.
