Amarillo, Texas, -- The officials in a Texas zoo have released a picture of an unidentified creature found roaming outside their perimeter fence, seeking help to solve the mystery.

The mysterious creature that appears to be walking on its two legs was caught on surveillance footage of the Amarillo Zoo on May 21 at around 1:30 a.m. For the time being, officials named the night creature as UAO- "Unidentified Amarillo Object" and released the picture for the public to help them identify the animal.

"Was it a person with a strange hat who likes to walk at night? A large coyote on its hind legs? A Chupacabra? It is a mystery – for Amarillo to help solve,” the city officials said in a news release Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Michael Kashuba, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Amarillo (COA) said no animals or individuals were harmed by the mystery creature and the picture was released just so that the Amarillo community will have some fun.

"It is definitely a strange and interesting image. Maybe Amarillo can help solve the mystery of our UAO," he said. "It is important to note that this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There were no signs of attempted entry into the zoo. No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism," Kashuba added.

The residents who think they can solve the mystery are asked to contact the COA communications office at publiccommunications@amarillo.gov or share their comments on related COA social media posts, NY Post reported.

Last month, a mysterious sea creature was found lying ashore on a beach in Ireland, and the image was shared on social media seeking help to find the unidentified animal that seemed to have a pipe-like shape. After a user posted the image on Reddit, some viewers commented that the animal is a pipefish, a subfamily of small fish closely related to both seahorses and seadragons. Meanwhile, a user opined that it might be a "Goa'uld," a race of sentient parasitic beings from the sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1." However, officials did not confirm the identity of the creature.
