Vampire Diaries
The Mystic Falls gang will have to find evil new vampires when Season 7 of "The Vampire Diaries" premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8. CW

Elena Gilbert, who? Nina Dobrev may have departed “The Vampire Diaries,” but that doesn’t mean that the hit CW series will be lacking in the drama department. A new promo video for Season 7 reveals that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) will have plenty of problems on their plate to keep their minds off of a cursed Elena.

“Do you want to tell me who the hell is living in our house?” Damon asks his younger brother in the first few seconds of the Season 7 trailer.

It appears as if Lily Salvatore (Annie Wesching) and her group of vampire/ witch hybrids – aka the Heretics – have taken over the Salvatore mansion. But fans don’t need to worry about them causing chaos. Stefan promises Damon that he struck a deal.

“A deal has been made,” he explains. “We don’t mess with them, they don’t mess with us.”

Well, there should be no problems there … right? Wrong! The next scene cuts to a couple bodies hanging from the ceiling, their blood all over the floor.

Unfortunately for the gang, Lily has claimed Mystic Falls as the new home for her band of Heretics. As for the humans that remain in town? They’re considered on the menu for dinner.

Of course, Bonnie (Kat Graham) wants to stop the Heretics. And judging from the video, it doesn’t appear as if Caroline (Candice Accola) is a big fan of theirs either. In one scene the blonde vampire is tossed against a door, and another shows her tied up. But as usual, Damon’s not worried about the danger lurking.

“About how long do we have before this evil engulfs the world?” he asks someone on the phone. “I’m just trying to plan my week.”

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 premieres on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. ET.
