Vance Fundraiser Brings In $5 Million as Speculation About A 2028 Presidential Run Grows
Donald Trump Jr. was among the attendees.

A fundraiser hosted by Vice President J.D. Vance raised more than $5 million as speculation regarding a potential 2028 presidential campaign continues to mount.
Axios reported that the event was held in Southampton, New York, for young Republican donors. It was attended by about 35 people and held at the home of 1789 Capital President Omeed Malik.
Vance has not announced his candidacy, but he has been viewed as a favorite to win the nomination. Other potential contenders include current Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and commentator Tucker Carlson.
In March, Vance was the favorite at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He was the preferred choice of 53 percent of attendees, followed by Rubio, who was preferred by 35 percent.
One upcoming factor that could help or hurt Vance is the midterm election. If the outcome for Republicans is too negative, they might start to view Vance's association with the current administration as a hindrance.
"If it's a complete blowout in November for Republicans, then that really hurts JD Vance and helps Marco Rubio," Dennis Lennox, a Michigan-based Republican strategist, told The Washington Post.
Based on the fundraiser attendees, Vance is enjoying strong support from people within President Trump's orbit. Among the attendees, according to Axios, was Donald Trump Jr. Others included Cantor Fitzgerald President Brandon Lutnick, whose father, Howard Lutnick, is Commerce Secretary, and World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff, who is the son of senior Trump adviser Steve Witkoff.
Also in attendance were Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan and GRV Strategies founder Garrett Ventry.
