Fans know that the Brown family from “Sister Wives” made the decision to leave their lives in Las Vegas behind in 2018, and now they finally start to get an idea about why Kody and his wives packed the family up and headed to Flagstaff, Arizona for a new life.

In a preview clip for the newest Season 8 episode, Kody finally admits that deep down, while Las Vegas has been a haven for the family following their being forced to flee from Utah a few years ago to avoid persecution, he has never really been happy there.

“I’ve wanted to move back to Utah ever since we left,” Kody admits in a preview clip. “I kind of want to go back and pick a fight, and say, ‘Put me in jail or tolerate me.’”

It’s unclear what motivates him to admit that he wants to leave Vegas behind, but it could be the moment the seed was planted to get the family to move in the first place.

Meanwhile, he and Christine will handle another issue as well, as they deal with an upcoming appointment regarding their daughter Ysabel’s Scoliosis diagnosis and whether or not surgery is the best option. It appears in the clip that Kody’s frustration with Vegas also begins to show, as he notes that he doesn’t like the energy he gets when they go and see their daughter’s surgeon.

“I’m honestly, other than to monitor it, I don’t really want to go back to Dr. Camp anymore,” he says. “I mean, I appreciate everything he’s got to say, but I’m not interested in surgery and that’s always the direction...the energy of that clinic is all about surgery and I don’t want to go there anymore, okay? So this is our last visit.”

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
