Gene Simmons, frontman of the popular hair metal band KISS, revealed something truly shocking to his Twitter followers early Jan. 1. In an uploaded photo, a bowl of cereal containing three different ingredients created some confusion and started off the new year on a wrong note for some people.

The bowl of cereal contains what looks like Oreo-O’s, frosted shredded wheat, and regular ice cubes. The caption read: “Anyone else put ice cubes in their cereal?” With many users playing along in the replies, there were also plenty who abhorred what they saw as a nauseating combination.

According to TMZ, this might not be a joke at all. The website reports his daughter Sophie thas always given the rock star a hard time for this interesting breakfast habit. In fact, it was her who apparently told Simmons to post it, so that he could see the public’s reaction to him putting ice cubes in his cereal.

Simmons’ son Nick even responded to the post, verifying the photo as real and stating that his father has been doing this for as long as he could remember.

One user responded with their own suggestion: instead of using regular water ice cubes, Simmons should use frozen milk cubes. That way, the milk wouldn’t get “watered down.”

The replies got stranger from there.

The revelation comes shortly after Simmons suffered some mild health concerns involving kidney stones. Last Fall, he was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles to have a stent inserted into his urethra in order from urine to flow from the kidneys to the bladder, allowing the kidney stones to pass more easily.

The event put a halt on his reunion tour with KISS, but the singer’s health appears to be back to normal, even if his dietary habits seem to be strange.
