Lil Wayne could be facing some future legal trouble. The Miami Herald reported that on Monday night the popular rapper arrived at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on a private jet that ended up being searched by federal agents.

The search was initiated due to a tip that was given to the Miami-Dade Police that weapons and marijuana were “possibly being transported” on the plane. The police then told federal agents so they could receive a search warrant.

Investigators reportedly included the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, local police officers and other agencies. They reportedly ended up finding cocaine and a gun.

Howard Srebnick, Lil Wayne’s defense attorney, told the outlet that he was “cleared” to leave the scene after investigators did their search.

Law enforcement sources also told the outlet that charges were not filed against the rapper that night.

Lil Wayne tweeted “GO PACK GO!!!!!” referring to the Packers football team on Monday before the investigation. He tweeted after the investigation with an update saying that he believed his football tweet may have been misunderstood. “All goody! I think they thought I was talking abt a different 'Pack' in my last tweet. But anyway GO PACK GO!!!” he wrote.

His massive following responded with tweets defending the rapper.

“FBI must’ve not been Wayne fans, everybody know what that means when it comes from you,” someone said.

“Haha. That’s a good goof on the police. But you shouldn’t let that slide. That would never have happened to a rich white man in a private jet. Get the application for the warrant and hold those police officers (and the judge) to account for violating the 4th Amendment. Racists,” another person said.

“So that’s gonna be the new trend now, running up on y’all at airports because of 'tips'?” someone else tweeted.

This is the second instance of a rapper’s plane getting searched this month. Late rapper Juice WRLD had his plane searched on Dec. 8 after the pilot tipped off investigators that he also had guns and drugs onboard. The search ultimately ended with the rapper dying from an alleged drug overdose.
