Selena Gomez and rumored boyfriend The Weeknd were certified newsmakers this week. But what’s more interesting about this developing story was the latest report highlighting the sex life and nontraditional views on love and marriage of Gomez’s new lover.

In a recent interview with GQ magazine, the publication that labeled The Weeknd as the “king of sex pop,” the 26-year-old “Starboy” singer candidly spoke about his own views on love and marriage. The Grammy Award-winning musician said his popularity does not affect his ego and his dating game, saying most girls want to get involve with him because of his talents instead of appearance.

“The reason why they want to [have sex] with me is because of what I do [in the studio],” The Weeknd said in an interview for GQ’s February 2017 issue, Us Weekly quoted. “So I’d rather just focus on doing that.”

Moreover, The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, also spoke up about his thoughts on marriage and family. According to Daily Mail, Bella Hadid’s ex-boyfriend believed that he would rather have kids first before settling down, saying “marriage is scary.”

“I feel like I’m the kind of guy that would have kids before getting married,” he said. “The first thing would be kids. Marriage is scary to me, man.”

Aside from marriage, Gomez’s rumored boyfriend also admitted his career is more “stimulating” compared to his sex life. The “Can’t Feel My Face” singer added he’s in a different place now than when he was just starting out a career in the entertainment industry.

"Right now,” Tesfaye said. “I'm much more, like, self-regulating than I was four years ago, when I first started getting everything and enjoying life. I don't focus on it as much as I used to. You know what I mean? Before, it's like, ‘This is amazing.' Right now, it's like a good song turns me on way more. Like, that gets me horny, like, literally gets me horny."

Meanwhile, The Weeknd became the talk of the town when his PDA-filled date night photos with 24-year-old former Disney child star Gomez emerged. The pictures fueled dating rumors between the two musicians, especially since it came after Tesfaye’s recent split with Hadid and Gomez’s comeback following her three-month hiatus.
