In the first episode of Netflix's "Unbelievable," viewers were initially introduced to Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever) as she's handed a blue coffee cup by her former foster mom, Judith (Elizabeth Marvel) and expected to recount all of the details of which the series is centered around. In the progression from episode one to the end of the series, we get to know the character and become a bit more familiar with her story, but this introduction perhaps left viewers wondering where the real-life Marie is now in present-day.

Many people likely knew before tuning in that the Netflix series was based on true events. Pulling inspiration from 2015's Pultizer Prize-winning article titled "An Unbelievable Story of Rape," and an episode of an episode of "This American Life" called "Anatomy of Doubt," the new crime series explores the story of Marie and the uncertainty that shadowed her based on the supposed inconsistencies that surrounded the story she told.

The answer is yes. According to the Seattle Times, Marie also received an additional undisclosed settlement from the at-risk-youth home where she was living at the time the attack occurred.
