Kit Harington may have dropped a clue about Jon Snow’s fate on “Game of Thrones.”  Helen Sloan/HBO

The show will return for its final season in just a few short weeks, and “Game of Thrones” fans are desperate for any sort of clue regarding how the HBO series will conclude its epic story. Now, a recent comment by one of the show’s stars could start generating even more theories about the final episodes.

In an interview with Variety, Kit Harington, who portrays Jon Snow, may have revealed a small clue about his character’s longevity during the show’s final six episodes. Speaking to the magazine, Harington talked about filming the show’s final season and revealed how long he was present for filming in the process.

“I was there the whole time this year. I felt a bit like people were coming in and out, and Jon Snow was just f—ing there the whole time,” he said.

He also revealed that Peter Dinklage, who portrays Tyrion Lannister, wrapped filming one day before he did.

The comments could lead to speculation that the actors are not only both in the final episode, but could be among the last two to die—if that is, in fact, their fates. Theoretically, if episodes were filmed entirely in order from start to finish, then their long-term presence on set would mean that they are going to present for some time.

However, it’s been previously confirmed that the show doesn’t film things in chronological order, and especially wouldn’t during Season 8 in order to try and prevent such major spoilers.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Joe Dempsie, who portrays Gendry, revealed he’d been filming a lot, but that fans shouldn’t expect that means his character would survive until the end.

“As with all these things, we never shoot in chronological order—so you might have people coming in at the beginning and at the end, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they make it all the way through!” he said at the time.

Still, even with the episodes not being filmed chronologically, fans are still convinced they’re getting several hints that Jon Snow will not only make it through but could be the one who takes the Iron Throne in the end. A January teaser for the new season, which took place in the crypts of Winterfell, led some fans to speculate that Harington’s character would make it to the end as a statue of him in the crypt appeared to depict him at an older age.

Meanwhile, statues depicting Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) looked as though they were showing the two characters at the approximate age they are in the show’s current setting—meaning they could be marked to die before Season 8 comes to an end.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8 premieres Sunday, April 14 on HBO.
