Prince William doesn’t usually hold Princess Charlotte in public like he does Prince George.

Royal fans noticed that the Duke of Cambridge rarely holds his daughter’s hand unlike his eldest child. This is evident in several photos when the then-family of four were photographed together.

In the online forum Quora, fans shared their thoughts about this matter. According to Carla Berlusconi, he doesn’t believe that there’s a deep meaning behind the apparent favoritism.

Instead, he believes that the media probably favors the father and son as both are next in line to the succession, so there are more photos of Prince William with Prince George. Also, it’s easier to control a fairly sensible walking and talking toddler instead of a baby who might kick him.

“Prince William has made it clear the reason he puts an emphasis on his relationship with Prince George is because, he remembers how as a child most people saw him as an heir to the throne and not a child even his father to some extent. Prince William doesn’t want his son to know his families significance let alone how it affects him,” Clarence Davis III commented.

Katerina Simms, a romance writer and accidental love guru, believes that Prince William carries Prince George instead of Princess Charlotte because he is older and heavier. Sallie Smythe, a royalist and monarchist, said that this is just down to the royal tradition. According to her, based on the royal tradition, men hold their sons, while women take charge of the daughters.

Meanwhile, Pauline Toop, a resident of the United Kingdom, pointed out that it’s normal in a family for a father to look after the older children and the mother the younger. Now that Prince George is no longer a toddler, she expects Prince William to hold Princess Charlotte and Middleton to carry Prince Louis.

An insider revealed earlier that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have no favorites among their brood. However, Prince George is very close to his father. The two even share deep conversations that fascinate the second-in-line to the throne. In the same way, Middleton is as close to Princess Charlotte.

Parenting expert Jasmine Peters said that Prince William and Middleton’s behavior reflects the traditional parenting style. This arrangement shows the importance of the bond created between father and son and mother and daughter.
