Although Brad Pitt has referred to Jennifer Aniston as a “good friend,” his former fiancé, Gwyneth Paltrow, doesn’t see the point of being friends with an ex. In a new interview, the Goop founder shared her thoughts about maintaining a friendship with her exes.

During a conversation featured in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, “The Politician” star revealed that she was on civil terms with a majority of her exes.

“One of them is still one of my best friends — one from high school, Tony Woods. And I’m friendly with Brad Pitt. I don’t have any really bad blood,” she told the magazine.

While the 47-year-old remains cordial with some of her former loves, Paltrow explained the only reason why she made an effort to stay friends with her ex-husband, Chris Martin.

“It’s not like there’s a finish line: ‘Oh, we consciously uncoupled; we’re done.’ It’s a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together,” the actress said.

“I don’t see a reason to do it if you don’t have children together. Some people do. But I think we put all the hard work in at the beginning. I would say very rarely is it difficult now. We’ve learned how to communicate with each other.”

Paltrow and Martin, who finalized their divorce in 2016, share two children together, daughter, Apple, 15, and son Moses, 13.

Although it took some time for the stars to build a friendship following their split, the two are on her great terms nowadays. “We love each other. We laugh. We have the best of each other. It’s really nice. It makes you feel like you don’t have to lose,” Paltrow explained.

Paltrow, who dated Pitt from 1994 to 1997, called off her engagement to the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” star after realizing she wasn’t ready for marriage. Even though the “Avengers” actress prefers to keep some distance between herself and her exes, Pitt has reportedly been in contact with his ex-wife, Aniston.

Sources close to the stars previously told Us Weekly Aniston and Pitt “have a real bond.”
