John Legend is afraid to get political.

The singer and songwriter made an appearance at a drive-in rally put on by Vice President nominee Kamala Harris for the Joe Biden-Harris campaign Monday night in Philadelphia and he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind when it came to discussing President Donald Trump.

Not only did Legend put Trump on blast by calling him "coward," but he also shared his opinions on the rappers that have come out to announce they’re endorsing him in the 2020 presidential election. Lil Wayne, Lil Pump, Ice Cube, and 50 Cent are just a few of the popular rap stars that have touted support for Trump.

Legend told the crowd, "Some of your former favorite rappers have been taken in by these lies. I think they even founded a new supergroup, it's called 'the Sunken Place.'"

The 41-year-old went on to advise voters not to trust the sitting president.

You can’t bank on a word he says. Ask the students of Trump University. Ask all of the contractors he stiffed. Ask the people his charity were supposed to help before it was shut down for being a fraud. Ask all the Black and brown Americans who are dying from this virus and losing their jobs under his watch.

The performer ended his speech by saying, “The president isn’t strong. He’s a coward, and his career in business and in government has been failure after failure after failure.”

Legend’s later tweeted about his speech, explaining that his rally appearance was driven by his desire to "end this national nightmare."

The Hill posted his speech on Twitter, and both campaign sides have shared their fair share of responses.
