Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding, the Duchess of Sussex has been compared to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. While Diana was admired for many things, some believe the women shouldn’t be compared.

When Diana and Prince Charles tied the knot, the bride was only 20 years old. However, when Meghan and Prince Harry married in 2018, the Los Angeles native was 35 years old. Due to their age differences, one royal commentator believes comparing the two women wouldn’t be fair.

During an appearance on Yahoo’s “The Royal Box,” Jennie Bond claimed Meghan was more prepared for the changes that come along with marrying into the Royal Family. “She is being compared to Diana, and I’m sorry, that’s the case. She is a very different woman. She is much readier for her role than Diana ever was,” the royal expert explained.

However, Bond noted that Meghan has made several mistakes during her transition from a Hollywood actress to the Duchess of Sussex. “I think I would suggest to Meghan that she tries not to play any games with the press, tries not to be too celebrity.”

“That doesn’t go down well with the public. And to try to ignore she is getting quite a lot of flack from a lot of directions,” the commentator continued.

Since Meghan and Harry’s wedding, the couple has ditched several royal traditions and chose to keep details of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s birth from the public. The decision didn’t sit well with fans, who were eager for royal baby updates.

While Meghan and Prince Harry respect royal traditions, the two are expected to follow their own. Princess Diana followed certain royal traditions but drew a line when it came to her kids.

Unlike past royal moms, who allowed nannies to raise their children, Diana was a hands-on parent. The Princess of Wales took her children to school and attempted to give them a normal childhood.

Although Meghan and Diana have their fair share of differences, it appears the former actress shares some of the same family values the late Princess once cherished.
