Kate Middleton may be accomplished in many fields, but there is one area where her son Prince George finds her lacking. The duchess and Prince William's eldest child is apparently not impressed with her soccer skills.

Middleton and Prince William recently headed to Northern Ireland for a two-day visit, and while there, the couple played a friendly match with young kids at the Windsor Park football stadium, home of the Irish Football Association (IFA), The Telegraph reported.

Prior to their game, Middleton and Prince William chatted with the young students about their love of football. The Duchess of Cambridge revealed that Prince George, 5, is currently learning how to play soccer and often practices at home. However, when Middleton apparently tried to join in and show her skills at ball handling, Prince George was not very impressed.

"Mummy, you’re so rubbish," Prince George told his mom, according to Middleton.

The duchess told another group she would be joining in the match that she should have asked her son for help before playing soccer. "I should have picked up some tips from George," she said.

Despite her "rubbish" skills in soccer, Middleton was just as competitive as her husband when the match actually began. The couple was also spotted being very affectionate while they were playing.

In photos from their game, Middleton had her hand on her husband's back at one point, while Prince William put his hand on her arm. Another snap showed Middleton cozying up to Prince William during the game.

According to Kensington Palace's announcement, the youth who participated in the game with Middleton and Prince William are members of the Irish Football Association (IFA) "Shooting Stars" program. The group encourages young girls to learn how to play soccer.

Middleton also received a lot of praise from coaches and officials following their match for her sweet interactions with the kids. Nadine Murphy, a coach, revealed that Middleton comforted 9-year-old Jasmine, one of the children from McDonalds Fun Football, after she became a bit overwhelmed by the duchess.

"The Duchess took her time and spoke to her about being shy, telling her it’s ok and a good thing. She made sure she loved football. She [stayed] with her the whole time with her arm around her," Murphy explained. "She said 'I was shy at school as well and it’s ok.'"
