“Star Wars: Episode 9” is the final film in the new trilogy, and the one question on the minds of many of the fans is whether the film will be able to bring the franchise back on track. This is exactly what Disney’s chief Alan Horn was asked in a recent interview, and he had some positive things to say about the movie.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Horn was asked about how the upcoming JJ Abrams movie will bring the franchise “back on track.” The Disney chief has visited the production set of the movie in the UK, and he has met with the director, cast and the crew.

While on the set, Horn saw the filming of a few scenes, but so far he hasn’t seen a cut of the full movie. He did watch the dailies on the weekends, and sent his notes to Abrams. He accepted that the film is “a big deal,” and promised the fans that it is “going to be terrific.”

The “Star Wars” franchise came under fire following some fans disagreeing with the creative choices Rian Johnson made with “The Last Jedi.” The stand alone film “Solo” wasn’t well received by the audience, and the more recent animation show “Star Wars Resistance” also got some mixed responses, making the future of the franchise a little uncertain.

Horn explained that “Solo” was a “pretty good movie,” but it didn’t “resonate” with the fans. However, he also added that when a movie like that doesn’t do so well the press tends to be “more negative.” He pointed out that these movies are “big news” because they generate a lot of interest among the people.

While it remains to be seen whether the fans will be happy with the creative choices Abrams will make in the upcoming film, the cast and crew have given their best during the filming. Cast member John Boyega previously teased how the cast and crew of the film “pushed themselves” to achieve something “visually crazy.”

Filming of “Star Wars: Episode 9” has already wrapped. Abrams teased a picture from the set, showing a highly emotional Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley sharing a hug on the last day on the set.
