After a hectic few days of travel and meetings, George RR Martin is back home writing “Winds of Winter.” The author has once again debunked rumors about the book being complete and hidden away for the sake of the “Game of Thrones” TV series.

Martin was in Los Angeles last week to moderate a Q&A at the premiere of the film “Tolkien.” While in the city, he had a good time visiting the Peterson Automobile Museum. He also met with the writers of a TV show based on his “Wild Cards” series and another show that the author preferred not to talk about.

In a blog post, Martin said that he is back home writing “Winds of Winter.” The author reiterated that the book is not yet done, contrary to some rumors that have been circulating on the internet. The author said that the book “has not been finished and hidden away for years.”

In a previous blog post, Martin said that there are rumors about him keeping both “Winds of Winter” and the last book “A Dream of Spring” after finishing them. The author hid the books, according to the rumor, because HBO asked him not to release it until the finale of “Game of Thrones” aired.

Martin pointed out that just as the TV series creates an interest in the books, so do his novels create an interest in the show. Therefore, he argued that it is not in HBO’s interest to hold back the books. The author added that there is no “deal” between him and the studio or the producers of the “Game of Thrones” to hold on to the books.

As far as the show is concerned, Martin said in a recent interview that he personally wanted 10 seasons of “Game of Thrones.” However, the producers went ahead with their plans for eight seasons.

Martin didn’t reveals when “Winds of Winter” will be released. As far “A Dream of Spring” is concerned, he said that he hasn’t even started that book yet.
