A woman in California has been hospitalized after binging on sushi rolls at an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet. A Tiktok video of the 24-year-old sharing her ordeal after eating 32 sushi rolls in one sitting has gone viral on social media.

Danielle Shapiro from California shared a video on her Tiktok account showing the mountains of food she ate at a sushi buffet in one go. After the buffet experience, Shapiro also posted a follow-up video revealing that she had to be admitted to a hospital with IV drips.

The follow-up video captioned "All you can eat sushi went wrong" went viral and fetched more than 11.3 million views since it was posted last month.

The incident happened after Shapiro reportedly decided to get her money's worth at a $50 buffet at Sushi 85 restaurant in Mountain View, California, New York Post reported.

In one sitting, Shapiro stuffed on 32 sushi rolls, four gyozas, two jalapeño poppers, a bowl of edamame, and a bowl of miso soup. After binge eating, Shapiro said she felt so full that she had to sit in her car and wait for about 30 minutes before driving back home.

"My stomach felt very firm from all the sushi and probably the rice that expanded in my stomach,” Shapiro told the outlet.

Later that night, Shapiro went to her boyfriend's home but had to be rushed to an emergency room the next morning with complaints of severe stomach and chest pains.

"My stomach and chest had intense pain and it was hard to take deep breaths," Shapiro said. The doctors diagnosed her with gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as acid reflux, and gave medication to alleviate her pain.

Though acid reflux is not a life-threatening condition, if left untreated, it can cause health complications over time. It is estimated that about 20% of people in the United States suffer from acid reflux. Several factors contribute to the condition, including eating heavy meals before lying down and consuming certain food items that are fatty or spicy.
