“World of Dance” Season 1 winner Les Twins recently shared the most important thing they learned when they toured with Beyoncé and JAY-Z.

While speaking with People, Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois revealed that they didn’t speak English at all when they first worked with the couple. Due to this, Queen Bey helped them learn and speak the language. “She’s a great teacher. She taught me how to speak correctly,” Larry said.

He added that it was also Beyoncé who taught them how to live in New York. “She really made us feel like we were unique,” he said.

Laurent revealed that he and his brother wanted to make Beyoncé proud after they moved to the United States. “Definitely when someone puts this big name on us, we wanted to make sure she was so proud of us because we’re gonna give her like a thousand, million percent way more than what she’s thinking about us,” he said.

The brothers also said the same thing about working with “World of Dance” judge and executive producer Jennifer Lopez. During one of their mentoring sessions, Lopez advised the Parisian brothers not to just focus on their leg injuries. Lopez used herself as an example of an all-around performer who gives her all on stage even when she is sick.

In a previous interview with the same publication, Larry shared what it was like being coached by the “All I Have” singer. “I’m the dancer, you’re the dancer too so don’t mess with me. I feel like I had to represent her,” he said.

Laurent added that they didn’t want to let Lopez down, especially after seeing her work ethic and hearing her praise them. “She believed she would find the best dancer in the world and we did want to show her the truth,” they said.

The Bourgeois brothers brought home the $1 million grand prize, as well as the “World of Dance” Season 1 winner title, on Aug. 7. They bested the likes of Eva Igo, Swing Latino and Keone & Mari.

“World of Dance” Season 2 will return to NBC next summer, but registration for the upcoming auditions are already ongoing via the show’s official website.
