The Royals own home field advantage over the Mets in the 2015 World Series Getty

After spring training, a 162-game regular season, and multiple postseason series, the 2015 World Series is finally here. On Tuesday night, the New York Mets visit Kauffman Stadium to face the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the World Series.

The Royals enter the series as back-to-back American League champions. After knocking off the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays, the Royals hope to avenge last year’s World Series loss to the San Francisco Giants in seven games. The Royals are playing in their fourth Fall Classic and looking for their second championship and first since 1985.

In the postseason, New York beat the Los Angeles Dodgers and improbably swept the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series. After a long layover, the Mets are playing for a title for the fifth time and the first since 2000. New York last won the World Series in 1986 and is looking to win their third title in franchise history.

The two teams are evenly matched with both owning 10/11 odds, according to Vegasinsider.com. The Mets boast a young but efficient pitching staff, while the Royals manufacture runs with clutch hitting and speed on the base paths.

Which team is expected to win? Of the 25 writers, analysts and experts listed below, 14 are going with the Mets and the 11 are taking the Royals and the home field advantage.
