Social networking site Badoo.com has published a unique ranking of cities based on the number of online flirtations initiated per month by the average Badoo user in each of these.
The rankings of almost 200 cities are based on an analysis of 12 million flirtatious contacts made during a month on Badoo.
Interestingly, it isn't Paris or Venice or even New York that tops this 'World Flirtation League,' but one that is by popular notion more associated with history, culture and philosophy rather than romance - the Greek capital of Athens. The average Athenian citizen initiates 25.7 online flirtations per month, according to the study.

Ranked second in the list is Moscow, a vibrant, energetic city that delights culture and history buffs of the world. Relatively free from censorship and restrictions, it is a hub of creativity and though not perceived to be among the friendliest cities on the face of it, the city returned the second highest incidence of online relationships over a month at 25.5 flirtations.
“Moscow is a flirty city, it has this kind of grimy sex appeal about it. The sexes are quite polarised but everyone jostles for space and it uses the web like anywhere else so I am not surprised,” said one expatriate to The Moscow News.

Curiously so, as it is commonly perceived to be culturally conservative and guided by Islamic traditions which do not allow for effusive exchanges between the sexes.
Kuwait, however, is not the only Arab city that makes it to the top ten of Badoo’s list. Beirut and Tunis are also among the top cities in this league.

Rome and Turin jointly hold the eighth spot in the rankings.
