KEY POINTS

  • The upcoming season of "You" consists of 10 new episodes
  • Joe Goldberg’s next-door neighbor becomes the subject of his obsessive fascination
  • Season 3 is expected to release in 2021

"You" Season 3 is far from its release date, but the news about the highly-anticipated season has begun to roll out. The latest update reveals tons of additions to the existing cast of the series and sheds light on Joe Goldberg’s new obsession.

According to Deadline, Saffron Burrows, Dylan Arnold, and Tati Gabrielle are among the new series regulars of "You" Season 3, which will see Penn Badgley reprise the leading role of serial killer Joe. Fans will remember Burrows as Dottie Queen, the mother of leading lady Victoria Pedretti in Season 2. Dottie will be a changed person after the death of her son Forty and will be seen tending to her remaining child Love and her baby.

Arnold plays the role of a character named Theo who has a “complicated relationship with his stepfather.” Gabrielle portrays the role of Marienne, a librarian who is described as a “smart, no-nonsense” character. She is apparently a “keen observer of the neighborhood’s denizens,” and is quite savvy, which might prove to be troublesome for Joe.

Michaela McManus, Shannon Chan-Kent, Ben Mehl, Christopher O’Shea, Christopher Sean, Bryan Safi, Mackenzie Astin, Ayelet Zurer, and Jack Fisher are set to make recurring guest appearances.

So, who among them is the new victim of Joe’s obsessive fascination? Fans would remember that "You" Season 2 concluded with Joe and Love moving together into a new house. Here, they got a glimpse of Joe’s resurfacing obsessive patterns after he lays eyes on their new female neighbor.

As per the report, McManus’ character Natalie portrays the role of this neighbor who has intrigued Joe’s curiosity. She is professionally and socially a successful woman who is married to a “powerful man” with a “secret life.”

“But she sees through the shallow, Stepford-Esque vibe that surrounds her, and beneath her wry exterior, she leads a secret life,” reads the description of the Aquarius alum’s character.

Meanwhile, Chan-Kent plays the role of Kiki, a part of Sherry’s girl gang. Previously, it was revealed Shalita Grant will play the role of a “Mom-fluencer” Sherry.

Mehl is portraying the role of Dante, another librarian, and O’Shea appears as Andrew, another member of Sherry’s inner circle. Sean plays the role of Brandon, Kiki’s husband, Safi plays Jackson, Andrew’s husband, Astin is Gil, a geology professor, and Zurer is Dr. Chandra, an experienced couple’s therapist. And then, there is Fisher playing the role of Young Joe, who will appear in flashbacks shedding light on his traumatic life in a Boy’s Home.

In the meantime, "You" Season 3 is back in production. However, the Netflix original is yet to get an official release date. It is expected to drop 10 new episodes sometime in the year 2021.
