His wife could be looking at extensive prison time after she confessed she was responsible for the accident which claimed the lives of both Hilary and the baby she was carrying. Now, desperate to make sure that doesn’t happen, Cane will make a shocking move to protect his family on the Friday, August 10 episode of “The Young and the Restless.’

Lily (Christel Khalil,) went to the police to inform them she ran the red light and caused the accident after Devon (Bryton James) warned his sister that he would reveal the truth if she didn’t on the CBS soap. However, as she spoke, she incriminated herself to a point where she was warned she could face charges for two counts of vehicular homicide. Sure enough, she is scheduled to now be arraigned for those exact crimes.

However, Cane (Daniel Goddard) wants to do whatever he can to protect his wife and keep her out of prison, since her not remembering how the accident happened was his fault. He convinced both his son, Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Shauna (Camryn Hamm) to hide the truth until Shauna revealed it at Hilary’s memorial service. Now, his wife could suffer severe consequences because she technically initially lied to the police about what happened with the accident, and it’s his fault.

He will make one more plea to Devon to try and reason with him that sending Lily to prison won’t bring Hilary or the baby back, but he will remain unmoved because he’s still dealing with his grief and anger. Finally, realizing that, at least right now, Devon would love nothing more than to force Lily to spend 20 years in prison, Cane will decide there is only one other thing he and his family can do—flee Genoa City.

Cane will start to use any resources he has to try and get tickets that will get him, Lily, Charlie, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and baby Sam out of the country to evade the arraignment. However, even if he can successfully get them all out, it doesn’t mean Lily will be on board with the plan when she finds out.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
