They all want to know who has been trying to frame Victor for a murder they know he didn’t commit. Now, with every motive in mind and a bunch of clues figured out, Nikki will realize that one of her assumed allies is actually an enemy on the Wednesday, Jan. 23 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) have all been desperate to prove that Victor (Eric Braeden) wasn’t the one who killed JT (Thad Luckinbill), while also trying to keep the truth from getting out on the CBS soap. However, it’s proven to be more difficult than anyone expected, because anyone could have wanted Victor to go down, even if they didn’t know that he is innocent. However, as Nick and Nikki go over the clues, she may make a shocking discovery about just who has been working against them the entire time.

“Nikki plays hardball,” spoilers reveal.

There would only be one case where Nikki would need to be aggressive when it came to learning the truth, because the person she will realize has been framing Victor, or at least using the situation to her advantage, will be none other than Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who is one of the women involved in the coverup. Nikki will realize that by putting all the clues together, Phyllis is the only possible culprit, because she has made no secret that she wants revenge against Victor still for everything he did to her with Marco a few years back.

However, even if Phyllis does confess, it won’t make the situation less complicated. Phyllis may have been involved with covering up JT’s murder to begin with, but she isn’t the one who struck the fatal blow to his head with a fireplace poker—Nikki is. If she is proven to be framing Victor and he goes free, she could use all of the ammunition in the world that she has to then turn against Nikki and send her to prison instead—making things more dangerous for the Newman family than they ever were before.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
