- Morning Gold Market Report 8/22
August 22 2012 10:17 AM
While optimism toward the EU debt situation has waned slightly in many markets, gold seems to have maintained a generally positive track to start today. Perhaps because of hopes that today's FOMC meeting minutes will serve to keep hope of additional US easing alive. Gold was possibly drafting support from comments from the head of the PBOC, who suggested that the central bank will need to use all available tools to stimulate the Chinese economy.
- Morning Silver Market Report 8/22
August 22 2012 10:16 AM
Silver has forged a rather impressive 5 day rally of $1.61 an ounce and that has probably increased the overbought prospects significantly. Clearly silver was cheered this week by hopes of a solution to the EU debt problem, but silver was also lifted by fresh hopes of Chinese easing. Silver could get an additional lift today if the US Fed meeting minutes provide fresh hope of additional US easing.

August 21 2012 10:46 AM
With a fresh new high for the move overnight, December gold prices rose to the highest levels since August 10th. At least to start, the gold market is facing mostly positive outside market forces, as the Euro is stronger, equities are generally higher and finally grain and energy prices are also tracking higher in the early Tuesday US trade action. While the US economic slate is somewhat thin, attention early in the session could be locked onto a speech from the Atlanta Fed President Lockhart.
- Morning Silver Market Report
August 21 2012 10:45 AM
The September silver contract managed a fresh upside breakout overnight, and in the process reached up to the highest level since June 19th. Favorable currency market action and gains in a long list of critical physical commodity prices overnight more than likely added to the bull's case.
