On Saturday night, "48 Hours" will take a closer look at Jon Garner's murder and the unique circumstances surrounding the crime. Due to the fact that law enforcement officials wore body cameras during a good portion of the investigation, CBS viewers will get an inside look at what took place on Jan. 2, 2018.

Initially, police received a 911 call from Sandra Garner, Jon's wife. Prior to their arrival, they had been also told that they believed he had been shot by an unknown male who had broken into the residence.

Once they made their way inside, they found Jon on the floor beside his bed and checked for signs of life. However, he had already died. Following his death, police began to question Sandra and examine her for any type of wound or evidence that could help lead them to answers.

"They had me sitting on the couch in the living room. I've never dealt with police at all, so I didn't know they even had video cameras," she told "48 Hours" in the preview below.

Once the scene was secured, police called for additional resources and backup as they started attempting to put the pieces together regarding what had transpired prior to their arrival. As they began their investigation they also decided to take a closer look at Sandra.

"After I was briefed, immediately I knew that Sandra needed to be talked to," said an investigator, adding, "She was the last one to see him alive."

Eight days after their initial arrival at her home, Sandra was arrested for the murder of her husband, which was also captured on camera. According to CBS News, those images would then "play a huge role" in Sandra's subsequent trial in September 2019.

Throughout Saturday's new episode, audiences will get to watch the crime show unravel the truth about what truly happened to Jon Garner.

This episode of "48 Hours," called "The Case Against Sandra Garner," will air Saturday at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
