Addison Rae got candid about her reaction when she got the offer to star in Netflix's "He's All That."

The TikToker admitted in a recent interview with Variety that she initially had no intention of becoming a celebrity. But things changed quickly when the 20-year-old became an internet sensation and amassed 80 million followers on TikTok and 40 million followers on Instagram.

Rae then shared her reaction after being offered the lead role in "He's All That" as she was starting to venture from being an internet star to becoming an actress.

"When I got the role, I was crying in the car hysterically and really just excited to show the world more of what I love to do and continue chasing the dreams that I’ve had since I was a little girl," Rae told Variety.

"It’s definitely gonna be hard to prove to people how passionate and how much love I have for acting. There’s a lot of weight that comes on with that, but it’s something that I’m willing to take on and show people that this is truly who I am and what I love to do."

Rae noted that she has already become more comfortable with being herself online. She already got over her insecurities and being embarrassed by her flaws.

"Now more than ever I’ve been like, ‘This is me and you either love it or hate it,’" she continued. "At the end of the day, as long as I’m feeling super excited and happy about the things that I’m doing, that’s kind of all that matters."

Rae also has her fair share of critics. She acknowledged that the internet has become a "really toxic place" because many people have nothing much to do due to the pandemic, so they pick people apart. She added that "negativity will always hurt and affect you" and it won't get any easier. However, she reminded everyone to "learn how to love yourself a little bit harder for the people that like to tear you down."

Just last month, Rae received flak after sharing photos of herself holding a UFC microphone at a preliminary event for UFC 264. She proudly shared that she studied broadcast journalism in college for three months to prepare for it. However, many replied to her post saying somebody else was more qualified than her and should have gotten the job.

Rae clapped back at her critics with a joke and tweeted, "Nvm y'all got me fired."
