After losing the defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp, Amber Heard fears there may be more legal battles with her ex-husband in the future.

On Wednesday, part two of Heard’s interview with Savannah Guthrie aired on “Today.” During the sit-down, Heard revealed she was worried Depp would sue her again for speaking out against him.

Heard told Guthrie she “took for granted what I assumed was my right to speak” and fears her words could be used against her.

“I’m scared that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step that I take will present another opportunity for this sort of silencing,” Heard told Guthrie.

“Which is what I guess a defamation lawsuit is meant to do - to take your voice,” she added.

Despite her fears about the future, Heard revealed she still cares for Depp despite their toxic relationship.

“I love him. I loved him with all my heart,” Heard said. “And I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work, and I couldn’t.”

Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard, in which he accused the actress of defaming him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed and she countered sued for $100 million.

In the essay, Heard referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse,” but did not mention Depp’s name.

Following weeks of testimonies, the jury awarded Depp $15 million in damages. However, due to a Virginia law that limits punitive damages, Heard will only have to pay Depp $10.35 million. In her countersuit, Heard was awarded $2 million in damages.

“I have no bad feelings or ill will towards him at all,” she told Guthrie. “I know that might be hard to understand, or it might be really easy to understand if you’ve just ever loved anyone.”

Heard’s full “Dateline” interview will air Friday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
