“American Horror Story” fans can say goodbye to Dandy. Actor Finn Wittrock may have played a psychotic, mamma’s boy serial killer in Season 4 of the FX anthology series, but he’s ready to tackle a brand new role in Season 5, “Hotel.”

Wittrock’s casting in Season 5 was announced by series co-creator Ryan Murphy on Wednesday. Prior to the news, Wittrock told People magazine that one of the things he loved about “American Horror Story” was the fact that the stars have the ability to switch up their characters.

“The fun thing about having this kind of rep company ideas [is] that every season you could do something totally different,” he explained.

Wittrock’s comments were innocent in that his casting news had yet been made public. However, it appears that Murphy already has a game plan for the 30-year-old actor. When the co-creator took to Twitter to make the announcement, he seemed to hint that Wittrock’s character would be involved in a love triangle with co-stars Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer.

As viewers already know, Wittrock’s “Freak Show” character in Season 4 was also entwined in a bit of a love triangle. Dandy became infatuated with conjoined twins Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson). Although one of the girls developed feelings for Dandy, the other was appalled by him.

“Freak Show” concluded with Dandy murdering a large majority of the performers after taking over as leader from Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange). Bette and Dot married Dandy, but they had ulterior motives for the nuptials. They ultimately ended up teaming up with Desiree (Angela Bassett) and Jimmy (Evan Peters) to drown Dandy in a tank.
