“Arrow” Season 7 ended with the seeming end of Felicity’s storyline. Actress Emily Bett Rickards opted to leave ahead of the CW drama’s 10-episode final season, and it doesn’t sound like she plans to revisit the blonde genius this fall.

“I feel like Felicity has done her time,” Rickards told Collider. “I don’t know if anybody is going to like what I’m saying, but I feel like Felicity has done her time. We knew this was coming for a while – for over a year – so the whole thing is exactly what we wanted to happen.”

While the actress seems to be hinting that she doesn’t plan to come back, she doesn’t rule it out either. “I trust the writers, and that’s in their hands,” she said.

Rickards announced she’d be leaving “Arrow” shortly after star Stephen Amell revealed the news that next season would be the final run for the Emerald Archer. Rickards made her exit announcement on March 30.

Fans watched as “Arrow” Season 7 brought her storyline to a close. In the present day, Felicity and Oliver (Amell) went into hiding without telling many of their friends about the pregnancy. She gave brith to baby Mia, and then the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) came to get Oliver.

The Green Arrow made a deal to save the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) last year, and now he owes a debt to the multiverse. He must help The Monitor, but the mysterious being warns Oliver and Felicity that the Green Arrow can save the universe. However, he himself will not survive the upcoming crisis. They say a tearful goodbye.

In the future storyline, Felicity had another sad goodbye with Mia (Katherine McNamara) and William (Ben Lewis). She told them that she wasn’t just going on the run to avoid the law; she was leaving for good. She went through a portal with the Monitor, who warned that she wouldn’t be able to come back. Felicity said she’d waited long enough to see someone.

It certainly seemed like Felicity could return in another flash-forward that shows what happened after she went through the portal. However, Rickards clearly is not giving anything away. Fans will have to wait and see if Felicity makes one last appearance.

“Arrow” Season 8 returns this fall on the CW.
