A 57-year-old man in Florida was arrested after he was caught on camera trespassing into a barn and having sex with one of the housed horses in September, a police report showed.

The man, identified as Santiago Victoria, trespassed three times on a Vero Beach barn and had repeated sexual contact with a horse housed in the structure between Sept. 18 and 19, the Smoking Gun reported, citing an arrest affidavit by the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

The owner of the property, Catherine Engel, installed a trail camera inside the four-stall barn on Sept. 18 after she noticed ligature marks around one horse's neck, according to the report.

Additionally, Engel recalled finding bungee cords and ropes around the neck of one of her miniature horses "even though she never placed any on it," police said.

Victoria, who is a laborer for a welding company that parks vehicles on the same property where the barn is located, was first spotted entering the barn on the night of Sept. 18, according to the affidavit.

Photos of the first trespassing incident showed Victoria walking into a stall occupied by a horse name Mariah and getting behind the animal "in a sexual manner," the report said.

The man was observed entering the same horse's stall shirtless two more times within three hours of the first encounter and having sexual contact with the horse.

The sheriff's office provided a graphic account of Victoria's alleged illicit conduct in its affidavit.

Engel contacted police on Sept. 28 to report the incidents. On Friday, detectives made contact with Victoria, who admitted to having sexual intercourse with Engel's horse.

Police said Victoria could not remember how many times he had sex with the animal but did not deny when he was told by authorities that it was three or more times. Victoria also acknowledged that he did not have permission to be inside the barn, according to authorities.

It was unclear if Victoria was responsible for the ligature marks found on one of Engel’s horses and the bungee cords and ropes found around the neck of her miniature horse.

Victoria was arrested on three felony burglary charges. He was booked into the county jail, where he was being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Victoria, who has previously been convicted of driving under the influence and violating probation, is set to be arraigned on Nov. 29. He has been ordered by a judge to stay away from Engel's five-acre Vero Beach property.
