A couple in Mexico had an unexpected guest show up at their wedding reception last weekend. A video of a black bear crashing the couple's dinner has gone viral on social media after a guest shared it on TikTok.

Angie Diaz shared the video, captioned "A bear showed up at my cousin's wedding," on TikTok, and it has fetched more than 1.7 million views. Diaz said the wedding took place in Chipinque Ecological Park in Nuevo León.

The video begins with the bear checking out a dinner table, tumbling chairs and sniffing some guests. While most of the guests bang on pots and pans to scare away the bear, an older guest can be seen continuing his dinner even when the giant animal walks behind him before exiting the scene.

Nobody was injured during the incident. After the video was shared on TikTok, viewers commented saying they were amazed by the rare sighting of a black bear. Some viewers said they were equally amazed by the brave guest, who stayed calm and continued dinner amid a life-threatening situation.

"How are you all so calm?" a viewer asked. "Plot twist: Bears are not as dangerous as media made them out to be," another wrote.

“Everything began since the wedding was held in a forest, and we were aware that there are wild creatures in the area, but we were not prepared for the bear to crash," Diaz admitted in a follow-up video.

The bear probably smelled the food at the party and wanted to see if it can get some of it, Diaz said. She said the guests were asked to stay still when the bear entered the reception as the staff at the hotel was used to dealing with wild animals, Dlisted reported.

“When we first saw it, the person told us, ‘Don’t move, don’t move!’ since it was obviously dangerous and life-threatening," Diaz said.

They then maneuvered the animal off the property and back into the forest. Diaz also said they were fortunate to see a baby bear the day before the wedding.
