Although Amazon immediately took down all YouTube videos of “The Boys” Season 2 trailer, the video no sooner got out on social media. Revealed more broadly via Forbes, the first look at the return of Amazon’s dark and irreverent superhero series is filled with blood and violence, yet seemingly no dialogue or potential plot details whatsoever.

The second season of “The Boys” ratchets up on the violence and action, based on the multitude of shots sporting torn off limbs, blood splatter, and heads split open in the teaser. Much of the original “The Boys” cast can be seen returning, such as Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher, Erin Moriarty's Starlight, Anthony Starr’s Homelander, and Jack Quad's Hughie. Giancarlo Esposito will also seemingly be reprising his role as Vought CEO Mr. Edgar in a more substantial way.

Along with all the expected gore and explicit content, Season 2 of “The Boys” alludes to the potential introduction of team Payback. There will be other additions to “The Boys” cast, as well, which includes Goran Visnjic’s cult leader Alistair Adana and Claudia Doumit as congresswoman Victoria Neuman. Patton Oswalt will also be making an appearance in an unnamed role.

“The Boys” Season 2 trailer also gave fans the very first look of Butcher’s dog, Terror, for which becomes a pivotal part of the plot in Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name.

“The Boys” Season 2 has wrapped filming and the trailer states fans can expect the episodes to drop in 2020. If the second season’s release bears any resemblance to the first, “The Boys” could debut on Amazon in July around Comic-Con.
