Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk have officially called it quits. But before reaching the decision, the former lovers struggled to make things work for their daughter.

On Friday, a source exclusively shared more details about the latest celebrity breakup with Page Six. According to the source, the actor and the model endeavored to keep their relationship going, but things just didn’t work out for the two of them.

Bradley and Irina reportedly had “very little in common” so it was hard for them to maintain their romance once “the lust wore off,” said the source.

The source also went on to say that Shayk was quite hopeful that Cooper would put a ring on her finger after they welcomed their daughter, Lea De Seine, who was born in March 2017.

“Then there’s the fact that they never got married after they had a kid. She was certain that would happen. It felt like they weren’t truly making a life together outside of the child,” the source noted.

The source also pointed out how the exes never really planned for the future as a couple, seeing that the actor-director only bought a house for himself and not for his would-be family.

Following the split, Bradley and Irina are trying to figure out what to do as they continue to co-parent Lea. There’s also word that Cooper is likely allowing Shayk to keep the 3,335-square-foot Pacific Palisades mansion he bought for $4.7 million in 2009.

For months there have been rumors that the American filmmaker and the Russian beauty were headed for splitsville because Cooper had been cheating with his “A Star Is Born” co-star, Lady Gaga.

However, an insider disclosed to Us Weekly earlier this week that the “Bad Romance” hitmaker had nothing to do with the split because Bradley and Irina have already been “unhappy” for some time prior their breakup.

Meanwhile, a source exclusively told ET Online that there was already trouble in paradise before filming for “A Star Is Born” started. The source even claimed that the former lovers contemplated on announcing their split months ago, but they postponed it at the last minute since it would spark bad publicity for the movie.
