“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” fans don’t have to wait until next year to catch up with their favorite witch. Netflix has announced that a “Sabrina” special will be part of their Christmas lineup.

Netflix made the announcement in a video promoting all of their Christmas content. The promo clip reveals that it will be titled, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale” and it will premiere on Friday, Dec. 14.

The clip starts with Hilda (Lucy Davis) telling Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) that they have a cozy agenda for the day. “We’re going to hunker down and watch our favorite Christmas movies,” she tells her niece.

“Sabrina” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who wrote the episode with Donna Thorland, revealed on his Twitter account that the witches probably aren’t celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Instead, he posted a gif of the cast in a holiday card that says “Happy Solstice!”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, witches gather around the fire to tell ghost stories and sing Pagan carols on winter solstice. It is also a time for guests to drop by, sometimes uninvited. Jeff Woolnough directed the special.

The Dec. 14 premiere date makes it a rather short hiatus for a Netflix show. “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 1 dropped at the end of October. The special will make hiatus a little easier. Season 2 still has no premiere date, but Netflix typically gives fans about a year in between seasons for hour-long dramas.

Fans are hoping for a shorter hiatus since Season 2 is already filming. As previously reported, Netflix greenlit two seasons of “CAOS,” so the cast went straight into filming Season 2.

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 1 took place shortly before Christmas. The action kicked off a little before Sabrina’s Oct. 31 birthday, and episode 7 took place while mortals celebrated Thanksgiving. The season finale had to take place in either late November or early December.

Sabrina will be different this holiday season, though. In the finale, she felt she had no way to save everyone other than sign her name in the Book of the Beast, pledging her allegiance to Satan. Her hair went white, and fans will see how else she has changed in the Netflix special this December.

That’s not the only cliffhanger fans want to see resolved. They’ll also learn what happened after Zelda (Miranda Otto) kidnapped Father Blackwood’s (Richard Coyle) daughter. She claimed the baby was absorbed by her brother in the womb, and then she told Hilda that she wanted to raise the little girl as their own.

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale” premieres Friday, Dec. 14 on Netflix.
