Christopher Walken ‘Peter Pan’ 2014: Twitter On Actor’s Live Performance

Christopher Walken might have been described as an aged Jack Sparrow in his portrayal of Captain Hook for NBC's “Peter Pan Live,” but being an entertainment icon comes with its perks. It seems that Walken, 71, could do no wrong overall.
His narrow-range singing was well received and even though the Academy Award winner couldn’t match the high kicks of the other pirates, plenty of Twitter users were thrilled to see him attempt tap dancing, even if he looked disengaged at times.
Even The Soup, which pokes fun at television shows, said it would not say anything bad about Walken’s dancing.
We will never have anything snarky to say about a tap-dancing Christopher Walken. #TheSoupLive
— The Soup (@TheSoup) December 5, 2014Honestly I'm just impressed Walken can speak on rhythm consider he, usually. talks...like, this? #PeterPanLive
— The Soup (@TheSoup) December 5, 2014This isn't Walken playing Captain Hook. This is definitely Walken playing Walken playing Captain Hook. #PeterPanLive
— The Soup (@TheSoup) December 5, 2014Of course many desperately wanted to see him ask for more cowbell.
I think he just needs more cowbell. #PeterPanLive
— David R. Whitney (@davidrwhitney) December 5, 2014I'm just gonna need some more cowbell in this performance #PeterPanLive
— Alyson Green (@BoBally23) December 5, 2014Captain Hook wants more Cowbell! #PeterPanLive!
— Paul Winkler (@PWPaulWinkler) December 5, 2014Like with the “Sound of Music Live” with Carrie Underwood, many watchers were critical of “Peter Pan Live.” Yet, some argued Walken saved the show.
Tap dancing Christopher Walken might just have saved this crapfest #PeterPanLive
— Matt Anderson (@darthbane2112) December 5, 2014Christopher Walken has saved the day. #PeterPanLive
— musiquedevie (@musiquedevie) December 5, 2014And there's Christopher Walken. We're saved! #PeterPanLive
— Meghan C (@Megs_C) December 5, 2014It’s not that Walken evaded all criticism. One of the main hits against him had to do with his makeup.
Weird that they cast Axl Rose in this thing though. #PeterPanLive pic.twitter.com/Le5lk6jCso
— The Soup (@TheSoup) December 5, 2014Christopher Walken’s makeup is giving me Marie Antoinette realness.
— Brian Moylan (@BrianJMoylan) December 5, 2014Christopher Walken's eyeliner is making me feel ill. #PeterPanLive
— Kathleen Mayko (@kathleen_mayko) December 5, 2014Another critique was that it seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
Christopher Walken can kill anyone on this stage anytime he likes the only thing stopping him is his lack of interest. #PeterPanLive
— Maureen Johnson (@maureenjohnson) December 5, 2014Christopher Walken needs to tone down his emotions. Wayyyy to over the top. Wayyyy to intense. Chill dude.
— Nicole Ehrhard (@N_AirHeart) December 5, 2014Borle, you have one job, keep Walken awake. One.Job
