The cast of the popular South Korean drama "Coffee Prince" reunited after nearly 13 years to film a documentary to talk about their success with the drama and walked down the memory lane of filming it.

The MBC drama’s cast came together to film an upcoming documentary titled "My Dead Youth – Coffee Prince" based on the hit series that aired in 2007.

The romantic-comedy series portrayed the story of an unlikely romance between a rich, young man named Choi Han Gyul (Gong Yoo) and a tomboyish girl with the name Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) who dresses up like a boy in order to find jobs.

The 17-episode gender-bender drama was a huge success and raked in high ratings and praises from critics when it initially aired way back in 2007. The drama also bagged numerous awards.

Actor Gong Yoo, who starred in the drama and played the role of Choi Han Gyul said that he was hesitant about being part of the documentary at first as he wanted to cherish the drama.

"I wanted to continue to treasure ‘Coffee Prince’ with the same feelings I had back then. I have such great memories of ‘Coffee Prince,’ and I was worried that something might change or become distorted…" the actor said.

The "Goblin" actor also mentioned that he related his feelings for "Coffee Prince" to that of one’s "first love."

"I usually can’t stand watching myself acting in my old projects, but Choi Han Gyul is a character that doesn’t make me feel very embarrassed. I’m not sure why that is. Maybe my acting was really good?" he jokingly added, according to Soompi.

"I still miss the sound of the director’s laugh. The 'Coffee Prince' set was a really exciting playground to me." said actress Yoon Eun Hye who was the lead actress of the drama.

Actor Lee Sun Gyun, who portrayed the character of a talented music producer, said that the "Coffee Prince" team was one of a kind. He added that despite having an exhausting filming schedule, the members would get together after work and enjoyed drinking and spending time with each other.

"I always wanted to get to the 'Coffee Prince' set early and leave late too. I’d go watch the filming even when I wasn’t in the scene," he added.

Chae Jung An and Kim Dong Wook also reminisced about their experience with "Coffee Prince" and talked about everyone’s efforts in making it a grand success.

Meanwhile, a pre-release teaser of "My Dear Youth – Coffee Prince" was released on Sept. 23. The documentary will consist of two parts and is scheduled to air on Sept. 24, and Oct. 1 at 9:40 a.m. EST (10:40 p.m. KST) on MBC.
