On Friday night, "Dateline" will examine circumstances surrounding Tom Kolman's death. After being found inside his parked car, detectives began working on the case in an attempt to find new information about what had taken place. Throughout the episode of the true-crime show, NBC correspondent Andrea Canning will take a closer look at what led up to the discovery of Kolman's body on that day in 2011.

Tom Kolman and his wife, Linda, had previously moved to the Hudson Valley region in New York as the couple had considered the area to be a great place to raise a family. It was there that the two created a "loving home where they celebrated birthdays and holidays."

Thanksgiving of that year was also a busy time for the family and was filled with visiting relatives and watching football. As noted by Linda, this was a passion of Tom's, who was an avid Giants fan.

November of that year would prove to be very different from the others, though, even though it did not start off that way.

After going to the gym one morning, which was something Tom frequently did, Linda checked in on him around the time that he usually headed to work. However, she did not receive the response she was expecting. Later, she received a phone call from one of Tom's friends, Gil, revealing that he did not show up to his place of employment that day, which prompted her to drive to the gym in an attempt to find out what was going on.

Upon locating his body inside the parked car, officials initially noted that there did not seem to be any evidence that indicated that he had died of unnatural causes.

On Friday night, viewers will hear new details that emerged that later took the investigation in a new direction as police began looking more closely at Tom's inner circle. According to a press release, the two-hour "Dateline" will feature interviews with Linda, Tom's daughter Jillian Kolman, Chief Investigator Bill Weishaupt, and more as those close to the case share their experiences in order to form a more comprehensive view of what took place surrounding this "tangled mystery."

This episode of "Dateline," called "The Good Husband," will air Friday night at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
