Ben and Ciara’s happy day ended in horror after a bomb went off in the church, and the nightmare is only beginning for the new bride. Now, as she frantically tries to figure out what happened to her husband, her brother will be relaying the news to other members of the family on the Friday, July 24 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

A bomb exploded shortly after Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) were declared husband and wife, and Ben appeared to be buried under a pile of burning rubble on the NBC soap. However, since then, Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Rafe (Galen Gering) dug out the spot where they thought he was—only to discover the groom was missing. Now, as Rafe and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) likely work to console a devastated and worried Ciara, Shawn will start trying to figure out what happened—and will be forced to reveal the news to his own wife, Belle (Martha Madison) and daughter, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), as a result.

“Shawn relays upsetting news to his family,” spoilers reveal.

Naturally, there will be shock from the women when they learn about what happened, but there may also be concern behind Shawn’s notifying them. Claire had been Ciara’s maid of honor but was fired the morning of the wedding after incidents involving Ciara’s dress being ruined, her engagement ring being lost and her getting sick after her Bachelorette party. Since then, Claire inadvertently admitted she knew about the wedding before she was told, disappeared briefly, and insisted she was suddenly fine with moving to Hong Kong instead of staying in Salem like she initially insisted after her release from Bayview. In addition, she’s also known for her history of starting fires, which could make her one of the early prime suspects.

“Claire lands on the hot seat,” spoilers state.

However, while she may have had motive because of her issues with the couple, bombs hadn’t previously been Claire’s forte—meaning someone else could have been responsible and could keep hidden from view a little longer as a result.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
