He is desperate to help her in any way he can, especially after his father was the one who outed the truth about her and put her in the situation she’s currently in. However, JJ’s proposal to Haley may not have quite the effect he’s hoping for on the Thursday, March 21 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

JJ (Casey Moss) and Haley’s (Thia Megia) attempt at romance was interrupted after Jack (Matthew Ashford) revealed that she was in Salem and the U.S. illegally, after putting the pieces together from information JJ had let slip to him on the NBC soap and Eve’s (Kassie DePaiva) detective work. Now, Haley is in deportation proceedings, and though JJ convinced Justin (Wally Kurth) to be her lawyer, he was unable to win her case, and the judge ordered her to leave within 30 days. On a whim, JJ then proposed to Haley that they get married so she can stay in the country.

However, Haley may not be so thrilled with the idea, as a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above) shows her reacting in a way where she accuses JJ of being out of his mind.

Though a marriage could help her case, Haley likely won’t think being married to the son of the man who outed her, who also happens to be running for mayor on an immigration crackdown platform, is something that will work out. As a result, she will tell JJ no, and seemingly accept her fate and the fact that there’s nothing she can do.

Of course, if she does decide marriage is the best thing for her, it could wind up being something she considers pursuing elsewhere, especially since Tripp (Lucas Adams) is also very keen on helping her out as much as possible. Though he is still Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) boyfriend, he has been suspicious that she tipped the cops off to the fact that Haley was hiding out in their loft—and could decide to test her at the same time as he helps Haley.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
