Destiny 2 Revision Zero
Revision Zero, an exotic Pulse Rifle introduced in Destiny 2 Season 19 Bungie

KEY POINTS

  • Revision Zero has intrinsic Anti-Barrier that's great against specific Champions
  • The weapon can switch between a two-round and four-round burst mode as well as a sniper mode
  • Revision Zero can be further improved via weapon crafting

There's no shortage of Pulse Rifles in "Destiny 2," and the addition of the new Revision Zero exotic in Season 19 just made the list of options to choose from even more crowded.

Revision Zero, which can be claimed via its special exotic quest, offers surprising versatility in both PvE and PvP. It's still a mid-range weapon like the others in its class, but it can handle itself well in short and long ranges as well.

The gun is a unique 450RPM pulse that can switch between two-round and four-round burst fire modes. The former has a higher range, while the latter has better stability. Its exotic trait also turns it into a sniper rifle, assuming players score enough precision hits with its normal fire mode.

There's plenty of value to be had with this weapon in both PvE and PvP as well.

Revision Zero comes with shield-piercing rounds that can penetrate and stun Barrier champions. This makes it a good alternative to weapons like Arbalest or Wish-Ender, especially since it can load high-damage sniper rounds.

Destiny 2 Revision Zero
Revision Zero comes with a selectable fire mode and multiple catalysts Destiny 2

On the other hand, the gun can comfortably eliminate Guardians in the Crucible with up to eight shots to the head. Its firing mode does not affect the number of shots to kill, though it does change up the gun's effective range. Expect it to hit hard up to 44 meters away with the two-round burst mode. Otherwise, it's only good up to 38-40 meters max.

Its lack of damage perks means it will fall behind other guns like The Messenger or No Time To Explain, but it somewhat makes up for this with its sniper mode.

As of its first iteration, Revision Zero is a solid gun that's in a comfortable spot overall. It doesn't break PvP nor does it shake up the PvE meta by much. However, once Bungie makes all of its upgrades active, it'll only become better, especially when its catalysts become available.

Sentiment regarding this gun will most definitely change once its full potential is unlocked. However, at its base form, Revision Zero proves to be a competitive option regardless of the activities players are running. Just keep in mind that it will take up an exotic slot.
